Description : The Green River Pumping Station Covered Bridge is a one span Howe Truss with a total length of 95 feet. The bridge is currently closed to vehicular traffic. The Bissell Bridge crosses the Green River on Einice Williams Drive, north of Greenfield. The bridge is the second covered bridge at this location, replacing a bridge destroyed by arson in 1972.
March 1, 1704 Eunice Williams wife of Rev. John Williams "the redeemed captive" was killed 100 yards from this place during the Deerfield Massacre.
